The film "Where Are You Going Aida" by Jasmila Zbanic, from Bosnia and Herzegovina, won the "Gold Star" award for the El Gouna Film Festival in its fourth session, which concluded the day before yesterday, in the tourist resort overlooking the Red Sea.

The events of the film take place in 1995, when Aida works as a translator for the United Nations in her small town, Srebrenica, when Serbs occupy it and thousands rush to take refuge in the camp of the international mission, including her family.

In the same competition, the movie "Bad Tales" by Italian brothers Damiano and Fabio Dinocenzo won the silver star, while the bronze star went to "Dying" by Hilal Bidarov from Azerbaijan.

The film "The Man Who Sold His Back" by Tunisian director Kawthar Ben Haniyeh won the award for best Arab fictional film, and the competition jury also praised the film "Oasis" by Ivan Ikic from Serbia.

And the best Serbian actress, Jasna Dorisic, won the award for her role in the movie "Where are you going, Aida", and the Palestinian artist Ali Suleiman won the best actor award for his role in the movie "200 meters."

In the feature documentary competition, the South African film "Days of Cannibals" directed by Tipho Edkins won the gold star, and the silver star went to the Kenyan film "Softy" directed by Sam Soku, and the Italian film "Truffle Hunters", directed by Michael Dweck and Gregory Kershaw, won the bronze star. .

"Their Algeria", by Algerian-French director Lina Sweilem, won the best Arab documentary award.

In the short fictional films competition, the movie “Becoming My Mother” by Italian Jasmin Trinka won the gold star, while Ivan Milosavljevic's film “Blue Frontiers” won the silver star, and the bronze star went to “White Fabrics” directed by Molly Kane from France.

The jury awarded the film "Stacher: I am afraid to forget your face" by Egyptian director Sameh Alaa, the award for best Arab film in the competition.

Based on direct voting after each screening, the Palestinian film "200 meters", directed by Amin Nayfeh and producer Mai Odeh, won the Audience Award, presented annually under the slogan "Cinema for Humanity". The film also won the International Federation of Film Critics Award "Febrisy" .

Jasna Dorisic, the Serbian actress, is the best actress for her role in "Where are you going, Aida".
