The mayor of Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales), Louis Aliot (RN), said this Friday, during a press conference, that he had issued a decree so that non-food businesses in the city center of the capital Catalan can reopen.
Since this Friday, shops considered non-essential have had to close their doors, due to the containment put in place by the state against the Covid-19.
"No one disputes that the health situation is more than serious, but the mayor that I am is more than doubtful about [the] effectiveness [of the confinement]", notes Louis Aliot, for whom this measure is inconsistent.
"I denounce the government's unpreparedness," he thundered.
The prefecture could attack and stop him
With this decree, signed this Friday by the elected RN, Tuesday, all businesses could raise their iron curtains.
"And this, until the government comes back in a fair and proportionate way, more seriously, on the inequality of treatment it has created, between small businesses on the one hand, online sales platforms on the other and supermarkets, said Louis Aliot.
It is out of the question that we can buy clothes in supermarkets, and not in downtown Perpignan.
"
Unless the state attacks this decision, which goes against the measures put in place from this Friday.
On the side of the Pyrénées-Orientales prefecture,
20 Minutes
was told
that the decree has not yet reached their services.
"When it is filed, there will be a legal analysis of this decree, and, possibly, the prefect will be able to attack it in summary before the administrative court", notes the prefecture.
