“I don’t want to play heroes”: Denis Shvedov about filming in TV shows and boring roles

- Tell us more about your role in the TV series "Ivanko".

You are the father of the protagonist's student ...

- This is a person who is disappointed in marriage.

Doesn't trust people (or rather women).

After he was betrayed, he decided that he would live for his own pleasure, and rejects all hints of something serious.

He has business, money, health, success with women.

He uses it.

The only thing that worries him and hurts, prevents him from fully enjoying the delights of life - this is a relationship with his son.

Because when he was born, the hero was young, building a career, there was little time.

Now he does not know how to behave with his son.

They do not have a sensual contact, when you understand perfectly at once what is happening with a loved one.

Empathy is lacking.

- Can you name three character traits inherent in your hero?

- Sarcasm, kindness and, probably, charisma.

You know, there are people like that - you want to learn something about them, be with them in the same company, interact.

It's fun with them, they know how to brighten up the simplest pastime.

- What do you remember about the shooting?

How did you work with the directors and actors?

- One of the directors of the project, in addition to Ksenia Voronina and Vsevolod Brodsky, was Shota Gamisonia, with whom I had already made one Internet product before.

On that project, I found out how cool Shota is a professional - although we did not have a lot of working hours.

And when there is such a large amount of material as "Ivanko", you can see how a person controls time, circumstances, and so on.

Shota, Ksenia and Vsevolod proved to be incredible professionals with whom you want to work and you can rely on.

And this is the most important thing.

The second is my acquaintance with Lina Mirimskaya, a fantastic artist who plays the main character.

She knows how to play drunk in a way I never dreamed of.

I won't even compete.

Only two more people can play drunks - this is Seryozha Burunov and Timofey Tribuntsev.

What she does is incredible.

Just a fantastic wonderful actress.

And, in fact, the shooting was easy to remember.

There was no tension.

Creativity and pleasure are the most important. 

- Earlier you said that in principle you do not act in serials because of their low quality.

Which project made you change your mind?

- I never had any prejudice about the format of the series.

I had biases about companies and quality.

Everyone knew what NTV was like before.

Now the guys are trying to declare themselves in a different way.

And I had a project on NTV (it is about to come out), where, as it seemed to me, we realized these goals.

It's all about the script and the team that is with you.

If it is, then you can agree to at least 150 episodes, at least to "Slave Izaura", whatever.

The main thing is with whom to do it.

- Biopics, in my opinion, have not yet been in your life.

What real person would you like to play?

- There is not a direct biography - this needs to be clarified with the writers - in my opinion, a collective image in the series "Doctor Preobrazhensky".

There I finally play an age role.

This is the story of the first plastic surgeon in the USSR.

In fact, there is a product, just for some reason it is still not shown.

Although it was filmed by fantastic directors Seryozha Taramaev and Lyuba Lvova.

I do not want to play heroes, rescuers - that's all.

This is no longer interesting to me.

Such a person is forced to do some completely unusual things for him and make incredible efforts on himself (mainly due to other people's mistakes).

I want to play something paradoxical, not heroic.

Well, for example, the first porn director in Russia (roughly speaking).

Or some little person - to show how a simple, ordinary person lives now, by whom we pass and generally do not even notice the color of his clothes - not like his face.

What most of the citizens of our country now live with.

I would like to do more documentary films.

A story without bright accents, passages, twists.

Just an observation, a cut.

I want a genre story, or some kind of comedy.

Not the same as "Fargo" - but with farce, satire.

Borat, for example.

This is incredible satire!

Even in Kazakhstan, people did not really understand that the director is not showing them, but the Americans, who condemn everything, do not accept.

- Maybe you would be interested in filming a project on your own or, for example, writing a script entirely for yourself?

- I often get asked this question.

It is directing - no.

Because this is a separate profession, and it certainly needs to be learned.

Would you go to me to make teeth?

Hardly, right?

For some reason, many people think that directing does not require such an effort.

I still have a different opinion.

There are, of course, people who are kissed by God who have it.

As for the script, this topic is more and more interesting to me.

I understand that for many this is a way out to do something that really excites and touches you ... The old truth: if you want to be done well, do it yourself.

She especially works in the cinema.

- Do you follow the criticism of the projects in which you participate?

- Specially - no.

I can be called "bottom" on Instagram.

And that's all.

Is this a criticism?

I would call this an emotional response.

It seems to me that this is generally a meaningless exchange of information and feelings.

Look here.

Initially, there was a script written by some person.

Then he came to us.

Then he got to the producers.

We counted it all, filmed it as it could be, with the means that we had.

Then it all went to the editing table.

And God forbid that the director himself edited it.

But this is not always the case.

And after that the viewer saw a certain film.

Even between the moment we filmed it and the moment the viewer saw it, other people interfere.

And so, guys, what are you criticizing?

Do you, in general, know what was there, how it was there, what we wanted, what we did not want?

You saw one thing in the film ... In Kazakhstan, you saw mockery and some insults in the film "Borat".

And there it is not even close.

There is generally something else.

And who is right?

- Let's talk a little about the theater.

You and your wife play at the Youth Theater, where many performances are produced for children.

And you and Alexandra still do not arrange home performances for your children?

- They go to our theater, to our local performances.

But the children themselves now stage performances.

Here the eldest introduced the younger.

She is in a ballet tutu, and so and so - in general, we have, as they say, our own microtheater.

We did nothing specifically for this.

She just saw something somewhere.

Her character is so formed that she likes it, she performs.

- Do you plan to move further in this direction?

- I just plan to make my children happy.

And what they will do, I don't care if they are happy.

I figured this out from my own experience.

The most important thing is their inner health, and of course, there will be no compulsion to anything from me.

If the son wants to become a manicure master, for God's sake, please.

- Have you already gone to the theater?

- Naturally.

Our main director invited me to take part in his new performance, which I am very happy about.

In the theater, of course, the situation is difficult.

A lot of people get sick, constantly some kind of perturbation, rearrangements, inputs.

So far, thank God, this has not affected me.

Despite the fact that it is difficult for theaters, it is not as difficult for them as for cinemas.

In cinemas, it’s quite a disaster, it’s very sorry for them.

The pandemic has shown that people still have a special relationship with the theater.

There is, let's say, the culture of going to the theater.

We stayed at home for three or four months.

People managed to get out of the habit of cinemas.

And from the theater - no.

Our theater is at some genetic level.

- Is the work in full swing?

- Impossible not at full strength - otherwise it won't work.

Now our artistic director Aleksey Vladimirovich Borodin is preparing to release his next production - Woe from Wit.

Runs and rehearsals are in progress.

The theater does not work any other way.

- Are you busy with Woe From Wit?

- No, I was now offered to participate for one artist, to play Famusov.

I already felt it in the school, as they say.

But while I'm busy filming - I have "Ex-3", we are shooting the next season.

So, I would be glad, but I just don't have time.

And you have to visit the theater every day.

- And what was the situation at the Kinotavr?

From here, from Moscow, we heard that many at the festival got sick, and the rest were very nervous ...

- I was faced with the fact that all of a sudden some publications wrote that I was sick or came sick - something like that.

I wanted to ask these people: did you take my tests or a certificate?

Despite the fact that I am one of the few who wore a mask there ...

Then I learned from my colleagues that for several important people at Kinotavr, wearing a mask was proof that something was wrong with me.

Then, when I heard who this information was from, I opened my mouth in surprise: “What?

How do you connect this in your head? "

Well, God bless him.

At Kinotavr the guys - the team itself - did everything so that everything would go as safely as possible.

And then it is the responsibility of the people themselves. 

- It turns out that there was a rather calm atmosphere?

- This time - yes.

People were just watching movies.

Someone, of course, was sitting in a restaurant, talking - well, where without this, the place itself has.

And these were wonderful evenings.

But in general, of course, people came to watch.

- The media publishes some news about the coronavirus every day.

And very disturbing.

Here, recently it was reported that the coronavirus kills neurons in the brain.

Don't you panic about these messages?

Do you somehow filter the information stream?

- Well, I train critical thinking.

The point here is not even that I criticize that the coronavirus can kill neurons.

I just do the most important thing - I carry two masks and a sanitizer with me.

And that's all.

This is my responsibility to myself and to other people.

Now the focus has shifted to the coronavirus.

We forget that there are diseases that may be even worse. 

In general, I am not going deep into this topic.

I just do what needs to be done, what will really protect me from further thinking.
