The coronavirus pandemic maintains its advance at a rate close to 20,000 daily infections.

The figures reported this Wednesday by Health include

19,765 new cases

, which bring to 1,136,503 the official number of affected since the pandemic arrived in our country.

If only the infections confirmed in the last 24 hours are taken into account, the statistics show 9,303 (compared to 8,304 on Tuesday).

The recent restrictions adopted by different communities have not yet managed to halt the advance of the accumulated incidence rate throughout Spain, which has once again climbed from 436 to

452 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days

The autonomous city of Melilla is the one with the highest rate (1,211), followed by Navarra (1,159).

Another five communities and the city of Ceuta also have more than 500 cases.

Health also collects

168 more deaths from coronavirus, compared to the 267 notified on Tuesday

and which were one of the highest figures of the second wave.

This Wednesday's update already records 35,466 deaths from the coronavirus, although it does not include deaths with symptoms but without a diagnostic test.

761 of these deaths have occurred in the last seven days;
