Fukui high school students make ultra-small artificial satellites with empty cans October 26, 5:15

A lecture on how high school students actually make artificial satellites was held in Sakai City before a competition to compete for the performance of ultra-small artificial satellites using empty cans was held in Fukui Prefecture next month.

Approximately 30 high school students working on science club activities participated in Fukui Prefecture's efforts to raise interest in science among high school students.

On the 25th, a lecture was given at the Fukui Prefectural Institute of Education in Sakai City, and the students attached cameras and sensors to observe atmospheric pressure to 350 ml empty cans to make ultra-small artificial satellites.

Then, on the adjacent ground, I used a drone to drop an artificial satellite from a height of 50 meters and checked whether it worked properly.

A second-year high school boy who attended the lecture said, "The experiment was a good result. It

is difficult to program after this, but I want to improve my skills."

Daisuke Sawa, Planning Chief of the Fukui Prefectural Institute of Education, said, "It's difficult even for high school teachers, but I'm impressed with how the students are enthusiastic about it. These lectures made them interested in space development and engineering. I want to. "

The competition for the performance of artificial satellites is scheduled to be held on the 7th and 8th of next month.
