Faced with the Moroccans of the sporting Renaissance Berkane in the Confederation Cup final on Sunday October 25 in Rabat, the bet could already be successful.

At the Prince Moulay Abdallah Complex in Rabat, Pyramids FC hope to make a dream come true on Sunday October 25: to beat the Moroccans of the sports renaissance Berkane for their first Confederation Cup final.

The culmination of a campaign, considerably lengthened by a suspension due to coronavirus, which began in August 2019 when newcomers to continental football had eliminated the Etoile du Congo Brazzaville.

Fifteen months later, Pyramids proved too strong for

Horoya of Guinea

in a one-match

semi-final

in Casablanca, winning the game 2-0 thanks to goals from Ibrahim Hassan and El Said.

“

The final will be tough as we face a great team, but we will do our best to accomplish our mission and raise the trophy.

My teammates and I dreamed of winning the Confederation Cup in the very first game against the Star and the determination to succeed grew over time,

”said former Egypt international El Said.

Sporting Renaissance Berkane

defeated Hassania Agadir 2-1

in an all-Moroccan semi-final thanks to two penalties converted by captain Mohamed.

Berkane hopes to emulate FAR Rabat, FUS Rabat, Moghreb Fes and Raja Casablanca and become the fifth Moroccan club to win the African equivalent of the Europa League.

During the previous edition, Berkane, looking for a first title at the continental level, was beaten in the final by another Egyptian club, Zamalek.

FC Pyramids, owned by Emirati businessman Salem Al Shamsi, has reached the highest level after only two years of existence.

The club, founded in 2008 under the name of Al Assiouty Sport, was bought in 2018 by the wealthy Saudi Turki Al-Sheikh, now owner of the Spanish club of Almeria.

Turki Al-Sheikh split from FC Pyramids just after CAN 2019 in Egypt.

The Egyptian team, which currently play in the Egyptian Premier League since its rise in 2017, has become very ambitious by recruiting Brazilian players and Egyptian internationals.

Turki Al Sheikh had even offered a luxury spokesperson in the person of Ahmed Hassan, quadruple winner of the CAN with Egypt.

We want to compete with the big clubs to win titles, and we will do everything to achieve it,

" said Hassan on the Egyptian channel Sada El Balad.

Less than three years later, FC Pyramids, coached by Ante Cacic, former national coach of the Croatia team, could offer themselves a first continental title and rise to the height of Al Ahly and Zamalek.
