In Japan's EEZ = exclusive economic waters, there are a series of illegal operations by fishing boats that are believed to have come from China and other countries at fishing grounds such as crabs and squid called Yamato Bank off the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture.



Under these circumstances, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Nogami visited the Fisheries Agency's fishery patrol boat, which controls foreign fishing boats, and confirmed the procedure for water discharge measures for fishing boats that do not refuse to move out.



According to the Fisheries Agency, the number of foreign fishing boats warned by the patrol boats around Yamatotai reached 2,587 as of the end of last month, and the number of Chinese fishing boats in particular has increased 3.5 times compared to last year.



Furthermore, at the end of last month, a North Korean public vessel was found on the west side of Yamatotai, and the Fisheries Agency requested Japanese fishing vessels to refrain from operating in this area, affecting the Japanese fishery.



After the inspection, Minister Nogami said, "I realized that the seafarers are carrying out their duties with a high level of awareness and responsibility. I would like to do my best in cooperation with the relevant ministries and agencies toward the safe operation of Japanese fishing vessels." ..
