“The originality of this little film is that it can fit into the action of

Frozen.

It can amuse fans of feature films who will be able to place it in context but make spectators who are not familiar with it want to discover this universe, ”explains Peter Del Vecho, producer of the short and of the two feature films.

We discover how the little hero lived the first minutes of his life after being awakened by Elsa.

“When Olaf says he loves hugs, we want the viewer to want to kiss him,” he admits.

A childish side

“People love Olaf because he behaves however he sees fit, with the innocence of early childhood, and that's what we looked for in this story,” says director Dan Abraham who worked on both. opus of the

Snow Queen

as host.

Olaf's childish side is put forward when he discovers the world around him and has to pick a nose among the objects around him.

"Olaf has kept Josh Gad's generous personality which makes everyone want to have him as a buddy," insists co-director Trent Correy, whose desk is cluttered with the hero's fluff visible during the videoconference interview with

.

The animation of the beginnings

Fun for viewers of all ages, little Olaf's delusions posed serious problems for creators.

“The hardest part was to find the less sophisticated animation of a first film, laughs Dan Abraham.

As we reveal Olaf's origins, he needed to retain an awkward aspect of a being to whom everything he sees is wonderful.

The directors took great pleasure in inserting this mini-story into the big one by having the other heroes of the film appear in the background.

“It's a job done by fans for fans,” says Trent Correy.

And all to admit that they are already thinking of a third feature film featuring this frosty hero and his accomplices.
