The arrival of a mass of air laden with particles from the desert and bad weather conditions are at the origin of a pollution peak.

This Thursday, Atmo Occitanie, the air quality observatory, predicted an episode of airborne particle pollution (PM10) in the departments of Haute-Garonne, Ariège, Hautes-Pyrénées and Pyrenees Oriental.

Since Wednesday morning, particle concentration levels have been on the rise, and a population alert procedure has therefore been launched by the Observatory which provides for an improvement from this Friday.

Health recommendations are made for vulnerable and sensitive people.

It is therefore recommended that pregnant women, the elderly or people suffering from cardiovascular pathology limit their movements on major roads, as well as intense physical and sporting activities.
