The Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced on the 22nd that as of 0:00 that day, 11 new cases of new coronary pneumonia have been confirmed in Hong Kong, including 1 case of temporarily unknown origin.

The cumulative number of confirmed cases in Hong Kong has so far increased to 5280.

  According to the report, of the newly announced confirmed cases that day, 10 were imported cases. Among them, 9 patients arrived in Hong Kong by flight RA4099 from Nepal on October 20, and another patient returned to Hong Kong from Pakistan; there was 1 case. As a local case with an unknown source, the patient is a 38-year-old unemployed female who lives in Yingwan Garden, Tung Chung.

  Zhang Zhujun, director of the Infectious Diseases Division of the Center for Health Protection of the Department of Health, said that the female patient had traveled to Italy and Switzerland about a month ago and tested negative on both occasions during her home quarantine in Hong Kong.

She started to have a low-grade fever on October 9th, and then took the medication by herself and felt better. On the 19th, she lost her sense of taste and sought medical advice.

The patient's son and a relative and friend who had met with her also experienced discomfort. The patient had eaten in many restaurants during the incubation period. The Department of Health believed that she was more likely to be infected locally.

  The Hong Kong Hospital Authority announced that as of 9 a.m. that day, a total of 15 confirmed patients had been discharged in the past 24 hours. So far, a total of 5,019 people have recovered and been discharged. There are still 116 confirmed patients in hospital, of which 13 are in critical condition, 4 are in serious condition, and the remaining 99 are in condition stable.
