Children learned how to eat delicious crabs at a nursery school in Sakaiminato City, Tottori Prefecture, which boasts one of the largest landings of red snow crabs in Japan.

This initiative is carried out every year by groups such as fishermen and restaurant owners in Sakaiminato City, Tottori Prefecture, at nursery schools and kindergartens in the city to let children know about locally landed snow crabs.

On the 21st of the first day, members visited "Nakahama Nursery School" and explained how to fish by sinking a crab basket deep into the seabed and pulling it up when crabs enter in front of about 90 children. ..

After observing the boiled legs of the red snow crab, the children were taught how to remove themselves from the shell and tasted the local specialty crab.

The older boy said, "The shell is hard but delicious."

Masakazu Hamano, chairman of the Sakaiminato Benigani Volunteer Association, said, "I want children to feel the deliciousness and continue to eat."
