• Covid The Government will study the curfew if the Community of Madrid requests it

  • Q & A. Can a curfew be imposed?

The insular peculiarity, the citizen commitment or the agility in the application of measures together with the political consensus to undertake them have been some elements that the

Canary Islands

have counted on

to be at this time the community with the least incidence of covid-19 and, for now, the only one that has managed to drop below one hundred cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the second wave.

In contrast, the accumulated incidence of

Navarra

continues to run wild, which on Thursday will make it the first confined Autonomous Community.

The provincial region, with an incidence of 1,002.73 cases, far exceeds the national average in the last 14 days, which is 322.94.

Average that, in addition to Navarra, exceeds

La Rioja

, with 549.56;

Aragon

, 542.94 and

Castilla y León,

503.22 in addition to the autonomous city of

Melilla

, 822.09.

A few days after the end of the state of alarm in nine Madrid municipalities, the Government and autonomous communities continue to seek measures to prevent coronavirus infections from continuing to increase, including the curfew, while analyzing how to stop cases in the university environment.

UK to infect healthy young people with coronavirus to test vaccines

The United Kingdom plans a study to know the effectiveness of vaccines against the

coronavirus

in which it would deliberately infect with the virus, in a controlled environment, immunized volunteers.

The tests, known as

"human challenge"

and sponsored by the government, are expected to begin next January, and 90 healthy young people between 18 and 30 years old will participate, who will be previously supplied with a candidate vaccine.

The Executive trusts that these analyzes, led by experts from Imperial College London, will help accelerate the development of vaccines against the

coronavirus

.

The volunteers will be supervised to establish if the vaccine works and if there are side effects, authorities have said, who have not specified which vaccine or vaccines will be tested.

7.00 Galicia limits social gatherings to five people

Galicia will apply new restrictions to face the second wave of the pandemic after reaching 5,215 active cases this Tuesday, with 357 new infections in one day and a balance of 47 patients in ICU and 277 in hospitalization units.

The Ministry of Health has decided to respond to the epidemiological evolution by activating what is described as "level 2 of restrictions" in the entire community and, for older people, limiting social gatherings to groups of a maximum of 5 people.
