On October 20, with the completion of the final concrete pouring process, the middle span of the main girder of the Tongzhuang River Bridge in the Three Gorges Reservoir area was successfully closed.

The bridge is a key construction project for the reconstruction of the bridge in the follow-up planning of the Three Gorges reservoir area. It is located in Guojiaba Town, Zigui County, Hubei Province. It is a concrete beam cable-stayed bridge with double main towers and double cable surfaces.

Affected by the impoundment of the Three Gorges Reservoir area, the water level drop during the project construction period reached 30 meters, and the construction water level of the main tower pile foundation reached 54 meters, which is the deepest construction water depth for the inland river bridges of the Yangtze River.

With a total investment of 280 million yuan, the Tongzhuang River Bridge project officially started construction in March 2017. It is expected to be completed and open to traffic at the end of this year. After completion, it will solve the problems that have plagued people on both sides of the strait for travel and navel orange transportation for many years, and optimize the county's transportation network and open up The large channel along the river will accelerate the development of tourism in the whole region, and promote the stability and prosperity of immigrants.
