The first lady of the United States on Tuesday canceled a trip to Pennsylvania, citing a "persistent cough".

She was to accompany her husband who is participating in a campaign rally in this northeastern state of the United States.

This trip was to be his first appearance in a campaign rally alongside Donald Trump in over a year.

Diagnosed positive for Covid-19 at the same time as Donald Trump, on October 1, the “First Lady” announced in mid-October that she was now negative.

"Ms. Trump continues to feel better every day after recovering from Covid-19, but, with a persistent cough, and as a precaution, she will not be traveling today," Stephanie Grisham said in a brief statement.

“A roller coaster” in terms of symptoms

In a very personal text entitled “My experience of Covid-19”, published on October 14, Melania Trump had referred to “roller coasters” in terms of symptoms.

“I had muscle aches, a cough and a headache and I felt very tired,” she said.

She also explained that, unlike her husband who had particularly benefited from an experimental treatment, she had opted for a "more natural" treatment, centered on vitamins and "healthy food".

It was in the statement that she revealed that their 14-year-old son Barron had also tested positive, but had since returned negative.

Donald Trump replied that she was "very well"

Asked Tuesday morning on Fox News about the health of his wife, Donald Trump replied that she was "very well".

For his part, the President also tested negative left for the campaign on October 13 and in great shape.

" I got it.

Now they say I'm immune.

I feel so powerful!

I can walk in this crowd (…) kiss everyone, kiss guys and beautiful women, ”the American president had launched in front of his supporters, for the most part, without a mask on the tarmac at Orlando airport.
