Jean-Christophe Parisot de Bayard is deceased, announced Monday evening on Twitter Sophie Cluzel, Secretary of State to the Prime Minister, responsible for people with disabilities.

He was 53 years old.

Jean-Christophe Parisot de Bayard, who lived in the Hérault, was an activist with people with disabilities.

In 2007, he was appointed ministerial delegate for Employment and Integration and in 2012, prefect in charge of exclusion, thus becoming the first prefect with disabilities in France.

Knight of the Legion of Honour

He was made a Knight of the National Order of Merit, and a Knight of the Legion of Honor.

He was, moreover, deacon of the Catholic Church.

Married and father of four children, Jean-Christophe Parisot de Bayard is a descendant of Pierre Terrail de Bayard, known as the “Chevalier Bayard”, who distinguished himself during the wars in Italy, in the 15th and 16th centuries.
