However, in the long run, Al-Anani considered that the message had no great importance, because it was selective in its dealings with political detainees, because it did not refer to the names of many political detainees in Egypt.
He added that its wording does not exceed the limits of the message, as it is not a policy and did not refer to the possibility of introducing legislation in the US Congress to convert its content into action, and therefore he expected that the Egyptian authorities would not deal with it seriously, especially in light of the strong relationship between the Egyptian regime and the American administration.

In the same context, Professor of International Affairs at George Washington University William Lawrence said that this letter is very detailed and accuses Egypt of imprisoning, arresting and killing prisoners before their trial, due to the conditions of their detention, especially in light of the Corona pandemic, explaining that the message may not have a direct impact, But it could represent a step before a military aid cutoff, especially if Joe Biden wins the presidential election.
And he expected that the Trump administration - if he wins - will in turn pressure the Defense Department and other aspects of the US government to reduce information by up to 10% or more.
On the other hand, the human rights defender and political researcher, Asaad Haykal, went on to say that waving the aid paper is a usual thing from America, but its use at the present time is nothing but a strategy used in the American elections, considering that the Egyptian authorities have a law that allows the release of prisoners as well as the handover of convicts, especially those who hold American citizenship, such as Aya Hijazi and Muhammad Sultan.
He added that the discrimination of American citizens without other Egyptians is not unfair, because the matter is due to the authority’s assessments regarding the supreme interest of the state, stressing that defending the Muslim Brotherhood or providing assistance to it in light of the political conditions that Egypt has lived would harm the interest Country.
