The Minister of Culture and Youth, Noura Bint Muhammad Al Kaabi, discussed with the Minister of Education, Science and Culture in Iceland, Lilja de Alversdottir, ways to strengthen cultural and creative relations between the two friendly countries.

During the remote meeting, the Emirati Minister of Culture and Youth reviewed the achievements of the creative sector since the beginning of the "Covid-19" pandemic, and the efforts made by all state institutions to ensure the provision of a rich cultural experience by employing modern technologies and digital technology, noting that The Ministry provided support to 140 individuals and companies with 4.6 million dirhams to contribute to the relief of companies and individuals, and the sustainability of the creative environment and cultural production in the country.

Al-Kaabi explained the objectives of the cultural and creative industries strategy, which the Ministry of Culture and Youth is developing, aimed at increasing investment in this promising economy and opening new markets for creative exports from the UAE, through a package of initiatives and incentives directed at creative, talented and youth.

She pointed to the UAE's desire to exchange experiences, best practices, and explore aspects of cooperation with Iceland in the creative economy, as the two parties agreed to form a joint working group to develop future cooperation in the cultural and creative industries sector, in a way that serves joint cooperation efforts between the two friendly countries.

For her part, the Minister of Education, Science and Culture in Iceland indicated that her country is working to diversify its national income, by diversifying its exports, and increasing investment in the tourism sector and the creative economy, as this methodology was able to provide thousands of job opportunities for university students during the summer, noting that the government of Iceland It has approved a policy for filmmaking, and is currently working on an integrated policy for the creative industries, with clear goals and indicators for the short and long term.
