Abu Dhabi gives frontline champions free access to cultural sites in the capital

With the reopening of Abu Dhabi's cultural sites to the public, the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi cooperated with the "Pride of the Nation" office to give front-line champions in the country the opportunity to enter the Al Hosn Palace and the Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum free of charge, in appreciation of their dedication, dedication and tireless efforts to preserve the safety of the UAE society during The "Covid-19" pandemic.

The initiative will continue for six months, starting from October 21, 2020, during which it grants free entry to the frontline champions, in addition to three escorts for each of them, to these two exceptional locations.

The "Front Line Champions" category includes all health care workers, including doctors and nurses, assistants, pharmacists, cleaners, security and administrative staff, in addition to basic service providers and workers in crisis management, security and emergency services, humanitarian missions, volunteer tasks and sterilization teams.

Qasr Al Hosn is the oldest historical monument in Abu Dhabi, initially built around the oldest standing building to this day in Abu Dhabi city - a watchtower built to monitor coastal trade routes and protect the growing communities on the island.

Qasr Al Hosn consists of two important structures, namely: the “inner fort”, which dates back to about 1795, and the “outer palace” that was built during the period 1939-1941. Throughout the centuries, Al Hosn Palace represented the seat of government and the ruling family, a meeting place for the Emirati government and a council National consultant and archive.

After a series of extensive restoration work, it stands today as a testament to the nation's history and a national symbol for one of the most prominent modern global cities.
