On October 18, the official website of Shanghai Safari Park issued a notice: On the afternoon of October 17, an animal accidental injury occurred in Shanghai Safari Park. The staff of the park were attacked by bears while performing operations in the beast area (vehicles entering the area). A staff member died unfortunately.
After the incident, the wildlife park immediately initiated an emergency plan, established a special working group, initiated emergency measures for the temporary closure of the beast area (car-in area), issued tourist announcements, properly handled tourist refunds and other related matters, and effectively strengthened the park's safe operation and management.
At present, the zoo is actively cooperating with relevant departments in the investigation of the incident, and the handling and various aftermath work are in progress.
