By playing Lady Di in the highly anticipated fourth season of

The Crown

, Emma Corrin believes she has better understood what is happening to Harry and Meghan.

"It made me very sensitive to what Meghan and Harry are going through at the moment," the actress told USA Today, referring to the media treatment denounced by the former royal members.

"I think it's because I feel protective of anyone who goes through this," she added, before returning to the role of Princess Diana who "intimidated" her a lot.

An aura of kindness

Emma Corrin was only two years old in 1997 when Lady Di died in a tragic car accident in Paris.

But the actress grew up well aware of what her entry into the British royal family had meant.

“She was an incredible figure and the most generous of benefactors.

I feel like she had that aura of kindness and that she also reshuffled the cards [in the royal family] in the sense that she was close to people, ”she continued.

The fourth season of

The Crown

will arrive on Netflix on November 15.
