[Poverty alleviation story] Intelligent sericulture helps people in the Three Gorges Reservoir area to get rid of poverty

[Explanation] Fengjie County, Chongqing City, located in the heart of the Three Gorges Reservoir area, has a long history of mulberry planting and sericulture. In the past two years, the local area has vigorously developed intelligent silkworm breeding.

Intelligent sericulture not only greatly improves the efficiency of sericulture and the quality of silkworm cocoons, but also drives the people in the reservoir area out of poverty and become rich.

"Quan Tang Wen" records: During the Northern Song Dynasty, Kuizhou produced 28,935 pieces of silk per year, with a price of 950 pieces.

Fengjie is blessed with natural climatic conditions and a long history of mulberry planting and silkworm rearing. It was once a major domestic producer of high-quality silkworm cocoons, and its silk, as an inspection-free product, is sold at home and abroad.

The sericulture industry is an advantageous backbone industry in Zhongshan District of Fengjie County, and it is also the main channel for people to get rid of poverty and become rich.

The county combined with modern technology to promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, and successfully created an intelligent sericulture system, and established intelligent sericulture bases in multiple townships, thereby promoting the high-quality development of the sericulture industry.

The reporter saw at an intelligent sericulture base in Fengping Township, Fengjie County, that the intelligent sericulture system built by the base integrates the Internet, automatic control, sericulture technology, and artificial intelligence technology.

The system adds mulberry, removes sand, raises clusters, and collects cocoons on its own. The annual output is increased from 3 seasons to 15 to 20 seasons, the production efficiency is increased by 28 times, and the cocoon quality rate is increased by 25%.

We are now mainly in a constant temperature and humidity environment, using intelligent equipment to achieve fully automated processes of adding mulberry, removing sand, disinfecting, clustering, and cocoon harvesting.

The output has increased a lot, and the quality has also increased a lot. It is of high quality.

[Explanation] Fengjie intelligent silkworm rearing adopts the mutually beneficial cooperation model of "leading enterprise + professional cooperative + base + farmer".

At present, the county's sericulture planting scale has exceeded 110,000 mu, covering 13 townships, 78 villages, and 30,000 households with 100,000 people. The annual output of silkworm cocoons is 3.5 million kg, the comprehensive output value is 500 million yuan, and the average household income has increased by 20,000 yuan.

Mulberry trees have truly become the "rich tree" and the "money cow" for farmers in the rural areas of Fengjie.

This is a very strong driving force for the people in Zhongshan District to get rid of poverty and become rich. We have been in Fengjie for 16 years, and 3,600 households of nearly 30,000 silkworm farmers in the county are poor households.

At present, the poverty alleviation rate has reached more than 90%.

[Explanation] It is understood that Fengjie County will build centralized intelligent sericulture workshops in 12 towns and towns, install and use 200 integrated intelligent sericulture equipment, automatically monitor the breeding status of silkworms in the whole process, and build a total of 50 small silkworms. Nursery room and 50 sets of intelligent automatic young silkworm rearing machines.

After the project is completed, intelligent control equipment will be used to ensure that the silkworm house automatically reaches the required design temperature, humidity and mulberry leaf feeding amount, and automatically controls the addition of mulberry, sand removal, clustering, and cocoon harvesting.

The entire project is expected to achieve an annual cocoon income of 200 million yuan, resettle about 3,000 rural surplus laborers, and drive local poor households out of poverty and become rich.
