The actor and humorist Pascal Légitimus was the guest, Saturday, of "La Table des bons vivant" on Europe 1. Born of a mother of Armenian origin and a West Indian father, the one who made himself known in the famous trio of the Unknowns tells about their double culinary culture at the microphone of Laurent Mariotte.

A father of West Indian origin, a French mother of Armenian origin and, always, good meals at home.

The actor and humorist Pascal Légitimus grew up nourished by two culinary cultures, about which he spoke this Saturday, on Europe 1, in the program "La Table des bons vivant".

Evoking "two complementary cultures", the traveling companion of Bernard Campan and Didier Bourdon, with whom he formed the trio of the "Unknowns", spoke of the recipes of his life.

Armenian meals not found ...

"Armenian cuisine is quite heavy, with a lot of oil, but they are good fried foods," says Pascal Légitimus.

He quotes "notably the beurek, which is a bit like a Lebanese puff pastry with goat cheese and little spices."

Another recipe from Armenia: that of tcheurek, a brioche made for Easter.

But one of the actor's favorite Armenian dishes is midia.

"These are mussels stuffed with rice and sometimes raisins. But that's very rare, that. I don't know where to find it!"

... and Antillean Colombo

On the West Indian side, Pascal Légitimus quotes the famous blood sausage of course, but also "the colombo of lamb or chicken in curry".

To be served with "red beans and white rice, that's the base".

And to finish in style, nothing beats the banana flambéed with old rum.

Pascal Légitimus, whose ancestors come from Martinique and Guadeloupe, has however not settled the heated debate that has agitated the two islands for centuries to know who produces the best rum.

There are copious and generous recipes.

"At noon, there was an Armenian meal, in the West Indian evening", recalls Pascal Légitimus.

"But it's true that the next morning ... I don't know how I haven't put on weight all these years."
