ARS, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes regional health agency, has asked all public and private health establishments in the Loire, Rhône and Isère regions to proceed from Monday to deprogramming for the next 15 days in the face of the risk. saturation of services due to Covid-19.

The intensification of the circulation of the virus in the region, particularly in the metropolitan areas of Grenoble, Saint-Étienne and Lyon, and to a lesser extent that of Clermont-Ferrand, "has a strong impact on the healthcare offer both in the services of conventional hospitalization than those of resuscitation and intensive care ”, underlines Friday the ARS in a press release.

"The risk of saturation of these services is now real in the short term"

This deprogramming does not concern outpatient surgery or medical activities, specifies the regional health agency.

The establishments in Auvergne, for which the situation is less critical at this stage, will also have to be ready to activate resuscitation beds in less than 48 hours if the situation requires it.

As of Thursday, 1,567 people are hospitalized in the region for Covid-19 (571 in the Rhône, 307 in the Loire, 242 in Isère), of whom 254 are in intensive care or intensive care (112 in the Rhône, 49 in the Loire, 36 in Isère).

Currently, 671 intensive care beds are open in the region against 559 usually with a possibility of increasing up to 1,300 beds, but which would imply a complete deprogramming of activities in favor of Covid-19.

“What is neither envisaged nor desirable today,” concludes the ARS.
