A new cast

Season 2 of the series, which aired from 2013 to 2020, ends this Friday evening.

An end clap that signals the departure of the three main actors, Samuel Labarthe, Blandine Bellavoir and Elodie Frenck.

They respectively played Commissioner Swan Laurence, journalist Alice Avril and secretary Marlène Leroy.

They will be replaced, in new roles, by actors Émilie Gavois-Kahn, Arthur Dupont and Chloé Chaudoye.

This change of casting is justified for the creator of the series.

"With these characters, we did 27 episodes of an hour and a half, it's huge," recalls Sophie Revil.

"We made them do everything. The characters were everywhere. In fact, we felt with the actors that we risked repeating ourselves. And then, the actors wanted new adventures. It's normal after seven years."

Two episodes of season 3 have already been shot in the summer.

"Next Monday, we start shooting two new episodes" reveals Sophie Revil.

Diving in the 1970s

This change also follows the usual functioning of the series, which had already changed cast between 2012 and 2013, from season 1 to season 2. And who says change of season, also says change of epoch: exit the 1960s, the

Little Murders of Agatha Christie

landed in the 1970s. "We had to recreate a whole universe. In fashion, decoration, etc., the 1970s are downright contemporary", comments the creator of the series .

According to her, this new era also allows the political subjects treated by the comedy series to evolve.

"

The Small Murders of Agatha Christie

is a feminist series", explains Sophie Revil.

"In season 2, the character of Alice Avril tries to convince Marlene to come out of her potiche side. However, the 1970s, it is at the same time the liberation of the woman, the miniskirts and at the same time, it is triumphant machismo. So you can really talk about gender relations with a magnifying glass, and still a lot of humor and comedy. "

This season 3 will be broadcast from 2021.
