"Dongtou Fishermen's Painting" is a unique art form along the coast of southern Zhejiang. It combines the techniques of New Year paintings, decorative paintings, gouache paintings, etc., and vividly reflects with strange imagination, exaggerated shapes and gorgeous colors Fishery production, fishermen's life and fishing village customs have a strong artistic charm.

In 2018, this technique was included in the fifth batch of intangible cultural heritage list of Dongtou District.

  Chen Qinqin is a fisherman painting painter and representative inheritor of the Dongtou Intangible Cultural Heritage Project.

In his studio of less than 15 square meters, everything he sees is related to painting.

A huge painting table covered with red cloth is placed in the middle, occupying most of the room. The table is neatly filled with paints of various colors, and brushes of different specifications are arranged in sequence on the wall and the drawing board. There are also various paintings with full colors and exaggerated shapes.

Every day, Chen Qinqin stays here for 6 or 7 hours.
