Demi Lovato doesn't care about losing fans with new anti-Trump single

" I do not care ".

This is what Demi Lovato responded, in essence, to those who tell her that she will lose fans with her political opinions.

The star released earlier this week her new single,

Commander in Chief

, produced by Finneas, Billie Eilish's brother, and in which, as the title suggests, she attacks US President Donald Trump directly.

Demi Lovato addresses critics who say she should keep silent on politics:

“I literally don't care if this ruins my career.

This isn't about that.

I made a piece of art that stands for something I believe in.

And I'm putting it out even at the risk of losing fans. ”

While many fans let her know that they were unhappy that she shared her political orientations in this way, the star replied directly on Instagram: “I literally don't care that this ruins my career.

That's not what it's about.

My career has nothing to do with it.

I made a work of art that represents something that I believe in.

And I put it on sale even at the risk of losing fans.

I prefer integrity in my job to sales, ”she posted.

Like that, it's clear.
