The Billboard Music Awards were six months late, but that didn't stop Billlie Eilish from triumphing.

The singer, who already triumphed at the Grammy Awards at the beginning of the year, left the ceremony with another award: that of the Billboard Top 200 Album.

In total, the young artist won in three categories, including the main one, as well as the awards for Best Singer and Best New Artist, but she was overtaken by Post Malone.

The rapper walked away with nine awards, including Artist of the Year and Singer of the Year.

Emotion evening

Among the other artists rewarded during this moving evening, marked by the performance of John Legend for his first appearance on stage since the miscarriage of his wife Chrissy Teigen: Khalid, Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus, BTS, Harry Styles, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello.

Rapper Killer Mike, meanwhile, received the very first "Change Maker Award", which recognizes artists who have done the most for their community.

Billboard also paid tribute to the recently deceased Eddie Van Halen by rebroadcasting his BBMA stint in 2015, when he took the stage with his son Wolfgang.
