Our reporter Wang Zhi

"In 15 years, I went from 28 to 43 years old, the best 15 years of my life. I was on the road to find a child. I was lucky in my misfortune. I found my kidnapped son, but there are still many parents who have not found it. For my own children, I am willing to help more abducted families and hope that they can be reunited as soon as possible."

In March this year, his son Shen Cong returned from Guangdong to Shen Junliang's rented home in Tianqiao District, Jinan.

After his son Shen Cong was abducted by human traffickers in 2005, he wandered for 15 years looking for his son. In March of this year, he finally met his long-lost son again.

From the initial recording of the bitter experience on the way to find a child, to now turning into a "cooking husband" to share his son’s life after returning home, to helping other abducted families find relatives... See you in 15 years

"I searched for 15 years and tried everything. I finally found my son. I am grateful. The rest of life will be stressful. But the family is neat and tidy, and we will do our best to restart happiness." This is Shen Junliang's personal Douyin An introduction to yourself on your account.

Recently, the reporter came to Shen Junliang to rent a house in Hejingyuan Community, Tianqiao District, Jinan City. There is only a simple hard sofa and a few chairs in the living room. The coffee table is purchased for more than 100 yuan. The most valuable TV in the house is a friend. Even the beds for the children to sleep were delivered by courier.

Although the rental house he lived in was a bit crude, the difficulties in life did not overwhelm the "tough guy" father. Shen Junliang's face was always filled with a happy smile.

Back in time on January 4, 2005, Shen Cong, the son of Shen Junliang, who was under 1 year old, was abducted by traffickers from his home in Zengcheng, Guangzhou.

Before that, Shen Junliang served as the department head of a company with a monthly income of six to seven thousand yuan, and the family lived a full and happy life.

All this stopped abruptly after his son Shen Cong was abducted, and Shen Junliang has since embarked on a long road to find a child.

He gave up his high-paying job at the time, sold the real estate, and even the old house in his hometown had no choice but to sell.

In 15 years, Shen Junliang not only spent more than 100,000 yuan in his original family savings, but also borrowed more than 500,000 yuan in debt from relatives and friends.

Although he and his wife later gave birth to two more sons, he never gave up looking for his son Shen Cong.

For 15 years, as long as he finds a little clue, Shen Junliang will immediately search for it.

During this period, he visited almost every town and village in Guangdong Province, printing and distributing more than 1 million missing persons notices.

In order to save money, Shen Junliang often spends the night in the open air. The most common thing to eat is instant noodles. Every Spring Festival, the whole family buys some cabbage and meat, and simply makes dumplings, even for the New Year.

At the New Year’s Eve dinner, they will leave a pair of tableware for their son Shen Cong...

When Shen Junliang was helpless, many kind-hearted people gave him the confidence to persevere.

What moved him most was that in a county in Guangdong, he went to the street to send out missing persons notices every day, hunger and full.

A kind eldest sister bought a boxed lunch for a week, and rode a bicycle all over the street to find him to give him food, so that he had food and soup every day.

Hope, disappointment; hope, disappointment... After countless repeated torments and the unremitting efforts of the police, from March to June 2016, five celebrity traffickers who abducted Shen Cong were arrested one after another.

At the beginning of 2020, the Guangzhou police used technology to finally find Shen Cong, Shen Junliang's son.

On March 7 this year, Shen Junliang and his wife finally reunited with their long-lost son.

"The day I met my son Shen Cong, he entered the room we were in, and my wife rushed up to cry. Although I tried my best to control myself, I couldn't control it..." Shen Junliang still remembers clearly. When I saw my son Shen Cong again, I shed tears in the interview.

Shen Junliang told reporters that the first time he made a vibrato was on December 30, 2018. He held the court’s verdict. Five traffickers who abducted his son Shen Cong were sentenced by the court. Two of them were sentenced to death for kidnapping and trafficking in children. Two were sentenced to life imprisonment, and one was sentenced to ten years in prison.

"My original intention was to record my child-finding journey, and I also hope to tell everyone through video to stop trafficking."

On March 17 this year, his son Shen Cong returned to Shen Junliang's home in Jinan from Guangdong.

Although they had never seen each other, Shen Cong's two younger brothers soon became acquainted with this long-lost brother.

Until now, the first sentence of the two younger brothers after returning home from school is always asking "Where's older brother?"

After retrieving his son, Shen Junliang had more time to record videos to record the moments of his new life.

July 1, 2020: "I bought my first bicycle for my son Shen Cong. I personally gave the keys to my son. He was very happy."

August 1, 2020: "The last time I packed my suitcase, it contained more than 10,000 missing persons notices that I would bring every time I set out to Guangdong, as well as the letters I often wrote to my son Shen Cong when I couldn't sleep at night, and a Tickets and other documents for the car in the past year..."

At present, Shen Junliang's personal Douyin account has 219,000 fans. He has posted 111 short videos in total. The maximum number of single short videos has exceeded 10 million times and the highest number of likes has reached more than 1.8 million times.

  Transformed into "cooking husband father"

"I have been looking for children for 15 years. I spend at least 10 months on the road every year on average. Every day I think about what my son Shen Cong likes to eat. Now that my son is back, his life is more stable after being reunited with his family. I finally have time to accompany. My family is moved every day, and I want to make up for all the debts I owed to my family." Shen Junliang talked about the life after he recovered his son.

"Cooking a table for the children for the first time in 15 years" "The children study very hard, and make a glass of Cantonese milk tea for my son at 11 o'clock in the evening" "My son's favorite fried chicken steak"... Now, in Sharing homemade food videos on Douyin has become a new habit in Shen Junliang's daily life.

In Shen Junliang's view, he is not a "food blogger", cooking for his family and children is a dream he has been searching for for 15 years.

"For many years, I have not fulfilled the responsibilities of a father. Now that my son has been found, I have gradually returned to the family and become a father again, thinking about what kind of love is the best love for a child." Shen Junliang said.

Shen Junliang told reporters that once when he went shopping with his sons, the child said, "Auntie, give me a green onion." He suddenly felt that he was with the child.

On another occasion, when the child had a final exam, he made a "perfect meal" which meant 100 points in the test. The children were very happy.

Since then, the kitchen has become his "main battlefield."

In order to learn to cook some food that children like to eat, Shen Junliang searches for recipes from the Internet, learns with videos, and constantly explores and practices.

Braised pork, braised chicken with scallion oil, fried rice noodles with eggs, chicken wings with salted egg yolk, beef noodles, fruit ice cream, Cantonese clay pot rice... For several months, Shen Junliang has changed tricks to cook for his sons. Every meal is lots of love.

Today, Shen Junliang's "Dad Shen's Kitchen", where she shares food on Douyin, has been updated to the 30th video, with a total of more than 28 million views.

"I would like to be a'cooking husband', where the family buys vegetables and cooks together, and does housework together. This life makes my children and I feel at ease." Shen Junliang said.

Looking forward to the first Spring Festival for family reunion

In order to support his family and pay off his debts, Shen Junliang has been working as a driver this year. He is often busy until one or two o'clock at night before returning home, earning an average of more than 4,000 yuan a month.

In September this year, Shen Junliang's wife also found a job cleaning in a hotel, earning more than 2,000 yuan a month.

However, the daily expenses of the family of 5 and the study expenses of the three children still weighed on Shen Junliang.

The reporter saw in the room of Shen Cong and his two younger brothers that the desk Shen Cong studied every night was built up between the two beds with a wooden board.

Shen Junliang told reporters that in order to help him pay off his debts, his 70-year-old parents still work odd jobs in their hometown to make money.

"Although life is hard, as long as the family is together, it is happy."

Currently, 16-year-old Shen Cong is in the third year of junior high in a school in Tianqiao District, Jinan.

"Shen Cong has been studying very hard since he got home. He has to learn until 11 or 12 o'clock every night before going to bed. After a few months, his grades have improved by a dozen in the class." Shen Junliang said excitedly.

Today, Shen Junliang hopes to find a stable job soon.

"I have been looking for my son for 15 years, no matter whether it is perseverance or sense of responsibility, I hope to find a suitable job to support this family, give the children a better life, and change the family. Also set an example for my sons." Shen Junliang said, including his parents, the whole family is looking forward to celebrating the first reunion Spring Festival in Jinan this year.

  May "there be no abduction"

During the 15 years of searching for a child, Shen Junliang had contact with the parents of more than 1,000 abducted children, many of whom have been in contact today.

They exchanged information and comforted each other, but the pain of losing their children was difficult for outsiders to appreciate.

"Behind every child abducted is a history of blood and tears that a family does not want to mention, and it may even lead to one or more families being destroyed." Shen Junliang told reporters that a child he knew was abducted in December 2005 in Dazhou, Sichuan. The father of the child was overwhelmed after looking for his son for two years and 10 months, and eventually committed suicide with schizophrenia. His mother also remarried.

In the six months after finding his son Shen Cong, Shen Junliang received an average of five or six phone calls from the parents of abducted children every day, and he had to answer the calls for several hours every day.

On the one hand, these parents congratulated him on finding his son, on the other hand, they wanted to "learn from him", hoping to find their own children as soon as possible.

In this regard, Shen Junliang felt the same way.

"A phone call is a hope." After years of searching for children, Shen Junliang has developed the habit of receiving every call and returning every text message.

Shen Junliang is also a must-see for other parents’ telephone consultations and even the messages on their Douyin and Weibo accounts, teaching them to collect DNA as soon as possible, sort out clues, and so on.

Through his personal Douyin account, Shen Junliang often helps others post "missing notices."

For example, Li Qiuyan, currently a college English teacher in a college in Shanxi, was abducted by traffickers when her brother Li Hengyu was four years old in 1998. She has been looking for her brother for 22 years and is unmarried.

A university graduate who is working in Pakistan is also looking for a mother in a thousand miles: "I was born in 1997. When I was six years old in 2003, I was trafficked with my mother to Haixing County, Cangzhou, Hebei. In 2006, my mother managed to escape. I remember my mother's name is Zhang Ai'e. When I was a child, I ate zongzi dipped in brown sugar water with her. I wanted to find my mother..."

"Although my family is finally complete, I will try my best to help more abducted families, hoping that they can reunite as soon as possible. My biggest wish is that there is no abduction in the world, so that all traffickers will be subject to the law. Severe punishment." Shen Junliang said.
