In ten days, everything has changed.

Or almost.

At the beginning of October again, Alsace seemed relatively spared by the Covid-19.

The trend is no longer the same today: the famous second wave of the virus is also raging in Bas-Rhin and Haut-Rhin.

The latest figures communicated by the Regional Health Agency (ARS) attest to this.

In particular one: the incidence rate.

In ten days, it has more than doubled in both departments.

Bas-Rhin is now close to 100 positive coronavirus cases per 100,000 inhabitants (96.9), against 66.4 in Haut-Rhin.

In the Grand-Est, the situation is even more serious in Aube (133.6), Marne (123.1) or even in Meurthe-et-Moselle (114.7).

Hospitalizations on the decline

Within the greater region on Tuesday, 313 people were hospitalized because of the virus, or 18 more than on October 1.

Good news for Alsace: hospitalizations have been on the decline over the past two weeks.

Yesterday, 76 patients were treated for cases of Covid-19, including 17 placed in intensive care or intensive care.

Since the start of the epidemic, 3,760 people have died in health facilities in the Grand-Est due to the virus.

Alsace was not spared with 1,555 deaths.
