Tariq Al-Shennawi: “Stature, value and commitment are multiple qualities that have become a conjunction with his name. He will remain alive and brilliant among us.”

After a bus march, death was absent yesterday, the great Egyptian actor and one of the giants of Egyptian cinema, actor Mahmoud Yassin, at the age of 79, after he enriched Egyptian art with many immortal works on screen.

His son, artist and author, Amr Mahmoud Yassin, wrote on his Facebook page: “My father, the artist Mahmoud Yassin, passed away, to God Almighty’s mercy.

Mahmoud Yassin - who was known by many nicknames, including the first screen boy - was suffering from an unstable health condition recently, without clarifying details from his family about it.

Last August, a rumor spread about his death due to Alzheimer's disease, but his family denied this, and his daughter, the Egyptian actress, Rania Mahmoud Yassin, explained to the local media that her father suffers only "some memory loss."

Yesterday, Rania wrote on her Facebook page: “I love you very much .. Goodbye, my dear, my father is under the protection of God.” Under her comments, she placed a picture of her as a little girl with her father.

Mahmoud Yassin was born in the coastal Port Said governorate in northern Egypt. He graduated from the Faculty of Law and began his artistic career in the late sixties through theater.

Yassin has enriched cinema, drama and theater in Egypt throughout his history, as he participated in more than 150 films and more than 60 dramas and 20 plays.

Yassin is married to a well-known Egyptian actress, and he has a son and daughter who are well known in the artistic community.

And his wife, the artist, Shahira, put a picture of him on her Facebook page, and commented on it, "Habib Omari Khalas is gone."

His first heroism was as an actor in front of the late great Egyptian actress, Shadia, when he embodied the character of "Hamdy" in the movie "We Do Not Sow Thorns" in 1970.

The late artist has many cinematic and dramatic roles that have been immortalized in the viewers ’memory, such as his roles in the films:“ Mouths and Rabbits ”and“ The Thin Thread ”in front of the late Egyptian star Faten Hamama,“ On Whom We Shot ”with the late star Suad Hosni, and“ The Session ” Secret »with Najma Yusra.
