The story of Karl-Bertil Jonsson's Christmas Eve has been shown every Christmas on SVT since 1975. The cartoon was directed by Per Åhlin and is based on Tage Danielsson's story of the same name.
Work is now underway on a new film adaptation directed by Hannes Holm.

When we then saw that it was going to be a film and that they needed actors, I started hard and applied immediately ", he says in a press release.

Jonas Karlsson plays the mulled wine-loving father Tyko, Jennie Silfverhjelm plays mother Marianne and Sonja Holm plays the poor girl Vera.
