A major reorganization is coming: Disney has planned to change its strategy, to reorient it on streaming.

The fear of fans of movie theaters is coming true.

In a statement received by

Variety

, the entertainment group announced the creation of a new group, which will decide the release strategy for each film.

“Our new distribution team will focus on delivering and monetizing content in the most optimal way, across all platforms, including Disney +, Hulu, ESPN + and the new Star streaming service.

Mulan and Soul release exclusively on Disney +

Thanks to the pandemic, Disney has found the chosen one of its heart: the direct streaming of content to consumers, already a priority before the health crisis, is now the subject of all its attentions.

As evidenced by the release of

Mulan

exclusively on Disney +.

And more recently the announcement of the same ilk for the film

Soul

, the next big production from animation studio Pixar.

#Soul, the new animated film from Pixar Studios, will be released in France exclusively on December 25 on #DisneyPlus.

In France, however, the law still does not allow films to be released at the same time in the cinema and on streaming platforms.

No worries for darkroom fans… for now.
