In 2017, Olivier Pasquon, now 51, suffered an industrial accident in the panel manufacturing plant where he is employed.

“I had my foot crushed by a cart,” says the father of two.

I had two amputations in quick succession, on the right tibia ”.

He and his partner bought a house in Ginestet, Dordogne five months before the accident.

Thanks to the help of the departmental house of the handicapped people (MDPH) and the national agency for the habitat (Anah), they do work in their bathroom, but there is a lot left for the house to be adapted to the handicap by Olivier Pasquon.

The couple decided to start an online fundraiser to help them get the most urgent jobs done.

Urgent adjustments to be made

There has not yet been a legal decision in the case between the 50-year-old and his employer.

And, three and a half years after the accident, Olivier cannot wear his prosthesis for more than two hours during the day.

He has to move in a wheelchair, but at his home his movements are restricted by steps and door frames that are not adapted.

"We have a cellar that I cannot access and to go to the veranda there is a threshold of about eight centimeters, so sometimes I find myself on the floor," he says.

He also cannot reach his car since his outer courtyard is made up of gravel.

“Before I was a volunteer firefighter and I helped others,” he recalls.

Now I am the one who needs help.
