A citizen consultation to relaunch Cité de la gastronomie de Lyon

The city of gastronomy of Lyon will open on Saturday, October 19.

The metropolis of Lyon announced on Tuesday that a meeting was held at noon with the sponsors to revive the city of gastronomy.

The establishment went out of business in July, just ten months after it opened.

"Due to a lack of coordination between the players and the prioritization of our objectives, the Cité internationale de la gastronomie was, in its first version, a failure that we can all regret," says Bruno Bernard, the EELV president of the metropolis.

Today, the time has come for reconstruction with the definition of a new concept around the theme of health and nutrition by associating the patrons, the professionals of the sector but also the inhabitants ”.

A citizen consultation with the creation of a citizen jury will therefore be set up to consult the inhabitants and future visitors of the places.

Until then, patrons and partners have been asked to animate this deserted place by organizing exhibitions or events for the general public.
