After a fatal accident that occurred on the night of Monday to Tuesday in Lyon, the police are calling for witnesses to try to understand the circumstances of the tragedy.
The accident happened around 12:40 am on the M6 near Limonest.
The driver was drunk when he hit a Peugeot 206 station wagon in the rear, traveling in a south-north direction, police said.
On board the vehicle was a 55-year-old woman, living in Saint-Priest.
She died instantly, due to the violence of the shock.
The suspect arrested
The suspect, who was driving a Mercedes, first tried to escape on foot before being arrested a few meters away by the police from the CRS Autoroutière.
Investigators are trying to determine how fast he was traveling and under what circumstances the accident occurred.
