China News Service, Xi'an, October 11 (Reporter Tian Jin) At 9:31 am on the 11th, Zhuzhu, a 20-year-old from the Qinling Giant Panda Breeding Research Center of Shaanxi Academy of Forestry, gave birth to a male cub weighing 167 grams and growing. Good, mother and child are safe.

This is the third birth and the fourth panda cub ushered in this year.

  It is understood that Zhuzhu, the giant panda, went into estrus on May 20 this year, and had a successful relationship with the giant pandas Qizi and Erlang on May 30. The gestation period was 134 days.

  Zhuzhu was born in 2000 and has reached 20 years old this year. It is currently the female giant panda with the largest number of litters and the oldest childbirth in the center.

Zhuzhu successfully bred 6 litters and 7 cubs in 2008, 2009, 2013, 2017, 2019, and 2020.
