After the disappearance of Eddie Van Halen, who died last Tuesday of throat cancer at the age of 65, many rock stars have paid tribute to him.

Ozzy Osbourne who knew him well did not derogate, even confiding some touching memories during an interview granted to Rolling Stone.

“The last time I really spent time with Eddie State on the last official tour I did with Black Sabbath in 1979 when they opened for us,” the singer recalled.

They were so cool.

We had fun.

Every time I saw Eddie Van Halen, it was great.

I remember seeing him do his tapping thing, and that was the first time I'd seen anyone do that.

Just when you think the guitar can't be exciting anymore, it happens.

It was someone like that.

Natural

“I could sit and watch Eddie Van Halen play guitar all day.

He was so entertaining as a guitarist.

He gave the impression that it was simple, natural.

Everyone was trying to be Eddie Van Halen, but there was only one, and he was brilliant, ”concluded Ozzy Osbourne.

It is true that Eddie Van Halen marked rock history with tapping, a guitar technique that would influence all the sound of the 1980s, as with the famous

by Michael Jackson.
