Direct sale of autumn taste "Imonoko" Akita Yokote October 12, 4:24

On the 11th, in Yokote City, Akita Prefecture, we will compete for the height of the accumulated "Imonoko" to boost the consumption of the special taro called "Imonoko", whose demand has decreased due to the influence of the new coronavirus. The event was held.

In the Yamauchi district of Yokote City, Akita Prefecture, taro called "Imonoko" is cultivated.

Every September, the "Imonoko Festival" is held, where you can enjoy cooking using "Imonoko", but this was canceled due to the influence of the new coronavirus.

For this reason, the "Imonoko Harvest Festival" was held on the 11th at the local roadside station in an attempt to secure sales opportunities for "Imonoko".

A direct sales office was set up at the venue, and many visitors were looking for the taste of autumn packed in bags.

In addition, an event was held to compete for how high "Imonoko" could be piled up in one minute, and children and others took on the challenge.

Participants piled up "Imonoko" in a wooden frame like a pyramid with a signal to start, and some of them collapsed just before the time limit, and the venue was lively.

A 12-year-old male junior high school student who visited with his family from Akita Prefecture said, "I enjoyed stacking up. I love Imonoko, so I'm looking forward to eating it."
