The Andorran authorities have decided to tighten the screws, so as not to relive the blackout of last spring.

On Wednesday, while Covid-19 contamination has increased in recent days, the Principality's government announced the closure of bars and new restrictions for restaurants as of Thursday.

To be able to share a meal in an establishment, it will now be necessary to be at most five around the table and to leave contact details to the owners in the event of contamination.

Their hours are now limited from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., and from 7 p.m. to midnight.

Eric Jover, the government spokesman, and the Minister of Health, Joan Martinez Benazet, also specified that the bars will not be able to serve neither inside, nor outside, but that the sale to take away of dishes is allowed to them.

At present, Andorra has 27 patients hospitalized as part of the coronavirus epidemic, including 7 in intensive care.

Since the start of the health crisis, 53 deaths have been recorded, but none since June.
