The count of those infected by coronavirus has added

12,423 new positives and 126 deaths

this Thursday

, which means since the pandemic began, 848,324 people have contracted Covid-19 and 32,688 have died, according to data provided by the Ministry of Health in its daily report.

Today's figures represent a

notable rebound

compared to those registered on Wednesday when 10,491 new cases and 76 deaths were reported.

Of the 12,423 new cases added to the official Health count,

5,585 have been diagnosed in the previous 24 hours

.

The main contributor of new infections was the Community of Madrid, with 2,265 cases, followed by Andalusia (444), the Basque Country (438) and Aragon (433).

In the previous day Madrid had diagnosed 2,325 cases, so today's data represent a slight improvement.

Regarding the deceased in the Community of Madrid, there are three deaths that bring the number of deaths registered in this region to 9,637 according to the Health Statistics.

With a death date of the last seven days, 63 people have lost their lives.

With regard to hospitalizations, there are currently 10,645 people admitted for coronavirus,

1,585 in the ICU.

In the last hours, there have been 1,262 admissions and 1,176 medical discharges.

Regarding the hospital occupancy rate, it is 8.95% of beds, and in the ICU, 18.04%.

This Thursday

the Accumulated Incidence (AI)

drops very slightly in all of Spain

;

In other words, the number of cases registered per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days, which stands at 256, 79 in the country as a whole, compared to 257.4 registered on Wednesday.

By autonomous communities, Navarra is the one with the highest AI (655.9), followed by the Community of Madrid (563.86) and Melilla (438.22).

The Community of Madrid therefore registers a small improvement

compared to the previous day, when it had an AI of 591.16, and the previous one, when it was 710. At the other extreme are the Canary Islands, with the lowest AI (95, 94) from Spain, followed by Galicia (107.98).

This indicator is important because, in the midst of the dispute over the appropriate measures for Madrid, it was one of those proposed by Minister Illa and approved by the Interterritorial Health Council to tighten restrictions in autonomous communities when the threshold of 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

Simón appreciates "a stabilization" in Madrid

In his appearance this Thursday, the director of the Alerts and Emergencies Coordination Center, Fernando Simón, has admitted that there is a "certain delay" in the notification of data from the Community of Madrid to the Ministry of Health.

Although, despite this delay, he has valued that, "for a week or 10 days until now, it does give the feeling that there is a stabilization" the epidemiological situation.

Simón has insisted, however, that "we cannot think that because Madrid is close to 500 cases, it is in a good situation."

In the opinion of the epidemiologist, "we are still in a very high situation, one of the highest in Europe, not only the Community of Madrid, but some other," he warned, although

"things, at least, are not getting worse ".

Asked about possible displacements on the next bridge after

the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid has annulled the perimeter closure

of the capital and nine other cities, Fernando Simón recalled that up to one and a half million usually leave on the Pilar bridge Madrilenians from their region.

"It involves risks, we have to be aware," he

warned, after explaining that "mobility is one of the reasons why epidemics, such as this coronavirus, spread from areas of high incidence to areas of low incidence."

For this reason, he has appealed to "individual responsibility" to achieve "that this lasts 15 days or a month instead of lasting four or five months."

Simón has not commented on the legal reform that Isabel Díaz Ayuso requests so that

tests

can be carried out

in pharmacies

.

"I am neither in favor nor against," he stated, although he explained that "taking a test is an act of public health responsibility", so "it is not a banal decision that can be taken in two days."
