An Iraqi student burns herself after the exam results are released

Thousands of middle school students in Iraq received, throughout yesterday and the day before yesterday, the results of their participation in public examinations held in unusual circumstances, after a year of intermittent study due to the spread of the new Corona virus, in the country and the closure of schools to their doors.

Al-Hurra TV quoted Iraqi press and security sources as saying that a student from Nasiriyah governorate set herself on fire after receiving the exam results, and that the reason apparently was her dissatisfaction with her failure to pass the exam successfully.

And the Iraqi Ministry of Education announced that the success rates in the exams were 81 percent for the applied scientific branch (focusing on physics and chemistry), 74 percent for the biological science branch (focusing on biology) and 77 percent for the literary branch (focusing on literary and human studies).
