The death missed the guitar player, Eddie Van Helen, founder of the hard rock band "Van Helen", as he died, the day before yesterday, at the age of 65 after a long struggle with illness, as his son Wolf announced.

Wolf van Helen tweeted: "My father, Edward Ludwik Van Helen, lost his long and arduous struggle with cancer."

Eddie and his brother Alex, along with singer David Lee Roth, founded the popular hard rock band "Van Helen" in the 1980s in Pasadena, near Los Angeles.

Eddie Van Helen was born in the Netherlands but moved to Pasadena, and was distinguished by his talent for playing the guitar, and by performing a brilliant solo on this instrument for Michael Jackson's famous song "Bet It" in 1983.

Eddie's song "Jump" rose to prominence, but the rest of the group rejected it at first.

This song was featured on the band's best-selling album "1984", and topped the list of best songs in the United States for five consecutive weeks.

In 2012 the band was forced to cancel concerts in Japan due to an emergency operation by Eddie Van Helen, and three years later the band returned to tours in the United States and Canada.

Van Helen faced alcohol and drug addiction problems and suffered from cancer in the digestive system.

His addiction caused his divorce to actress Valerie Bertinelli in 2007, after a 16-year marriage.

He was distinguished for his talent for playing the guitar and with a brilliant solo performance.

Eddie and his brother together with David Lee Roth founded the popular band.
