Great news for biodiversity.

In a press release, the Calanques National Park announces the discovery of a new species of crustaceans in the groundwater of this park located between Marseille and Cassis in the Bouches-du-Rhône.

This species, a kind of sea flea called Tethysbaena ledoyeri, is part of the thermosbaenaceae family, "of which there are only 37 species in the world to date", according to the same press release, which specifies that "this is the first time that a thermosbaenaceous is discovered in France ”.
