A 53-year-old teacher living in Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture, was arrested on suspicion of abducting a minor for kidnapping a teenage woman and trapping her in a car.

Police have not disclosed their approval or disapproval as it interferes with the investigation.

The person who was arrested was Hidehito Yamamoto (53), a teacher living in Morijima, Fuji City.

According to the Numazu police station, Yamamoto was suspected of abducting minors and imprisoning them for kidnapping a teenage woman living in the prefecture in a car and confining her in the car late last month.

When the police investigated after receiving a report from a female guardian that her daughter would not return home, the suspicion of Yamamoto's crime increased and she was arrested on the 4th.

The woman has already been released, has no noticeable injuries, and is being investigated by police.

In addition, the police did not disclose when they were released or their relationship with Yamamoto as "for the protection of the victims", and did not disclose the arraignment of the charges because they would hinder the investigation.
