On the afternoon of the 2nd, a Russian helicopter invaded Japan's airspace over Cape Shiretoko in Hokkaido.

It is the first time since July last year that the Ministry of Defense has announced that Russian aircraft and aircraft that appear to be Russian aircraft have invaded Japan's airspace.

According to the Ministry of Defense, at around 0:23 pm on the 2nd, a Russian Mi-8 helicopter invaded Japan's airspace over Cape Shiretoko in Hokkaido.

The Air Self-Defense Force fighter scrambled, made an emergency start, gave a radio warning, and left the airspace a few minutes later.

The Ministry of Defense announced that Russian aircraft and aircraft believed to have invaded Japan's airspace since the early warning and control aircraft of the Russian army invaded the airspace near Takeshima in Shimane Prefecture in July last year.

There is a red cross mark on the side of the helicopter's fuselage to indicate that it is a medical aircraft, and the Ministry of Defense is analyzing the affiliation and purpose of the flight.
