He was responsible for protecting the safety of the Party Central Committee and Chairman Mao in the Guanzhong Division.

After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Luo Chunsheng marched into the northeast with the troops and successively served as the commander of the guard regiment of the Liaodong Military Region, the commander of the 5th regiment of the Independent 2nd Division, the chief of staff of the Tonghua Army Division, and the deputy commander of the 1st Independent Division of the Liaodong Military Region.

On October 19, 1950, Luo Chunsheng, then commander of the 120th Division of the 40th Army of the Chinese People's Volunteers, was ordered to lead his troops into the Korean war.

In the Onjing battle, he commanded the troops and took on the arduous task of cutting off the enemy's retreat. He obtained brilliant results. In the continuous battle, he attacked the US army with swift action of slamming siege.

Later, he commanded his troops from north to south and went through five battles to chase down the enemy to the south bank of the Han River.

In August 1951, Luo Chunsheng was transferred to the 118th Division.

Zhang Yuhua, the political commissar of the 118th Division at the time, once commented: "He is characterized by resolute execution of orders in battles, decisive handling of situations, no matter what difficult tasks he undertakes, never complaining. In every battle, he always takes the initiative to ask for tasks and actively moves forward. Simply, without delay."

In May 1952, Luo Chunsheng led the 118th Division to return to the 38th line, taking over the defense of the 192nd Division of the 64th Army.

On May 15th, Luo Chunsheng was attacked by an enemy plane when he was handing over defense with the 192nd Division at Xinsidong on the front line of Lianchuan.

The government of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea awarded him the second class national flag medal.

"During the bloody years, the heroic sons and daughters who threw their heads and shed blood for the liberation of the Chinese people and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation have left us a precious spiritual wealth. Today we are at a new historical starting point. It is even more important to bring this revolutionary spirit into play, and to play a pioneering and exemplary role of party members in poverty alleviation, new rural construction, and rural revitalization.” said Liu Zhimou, Party Secretary of Youtian Town, Ji’an County.
