  • Regarding class photos, each school decides how it wants to organize itself.

  • No more traditional rows of onions, photographers rely on trombinoscopes or more original formats to prevent students from crossing paths.

  • Example in the Nantes region where despite cancellations, the period is in full swing.

We often look at them with nostalgia, even if we come up against certain first names.

With the health crisis, could traditional class photos definitely be a thing of the past?

The question arises when the coronavirus has completely turned the organization of school life upside down.

“In my daughter's college, it was decided to postpone the photo in the spring, believes a father from the Nantes region.

Usually, they do this in the fall.

But now, I imagine it's a bit complicated ... "

It must be said that it is up to each establishment to decide how it wants to proceed.

The only instruction is to respect the health protocol in force in schools, which imposes, for example, the mask for teachers and students over 11 years old… “Photos with the mask, there are requests, observes Benoît Gendrot, photographer.

But I prefer to play on social distance: we put landmarks on the ground and the students take off their masks at the last moment.

So that everyone can fit in, we make an extra row, with students sitting on the floor.

Then we move away a little and we take out the wide angle!

"

While, despite cancellations, the class photo period is in full swing, professionals must adapt.

For a session with less than 11 years old, not too much worry, except when a student misses the call (precisely because of the virus) or exceptionally wears a mask at the request of his parents.

The real problem concerns the teacher.

“In general, we take it apart, without a mask, and we add it as a medallion or near the group of students by retouching the photo,” explains Thierry Allemand, manager of the Family photo studio in Bouguenais.

Sometimes, it gives surprising moments: like in this class, this week, where the children attended the session and discovered the uncovered face of their teacher for the first time!

"

Trombis, "alveolar" or square photos

But the health crisis has also enabled new practices to emerge.

To put an end to the rows of onions, more and more photographers are launching into the trombinoscope.

If he has seen groups of masked teachers pass under his lens, Arnaud Monfort offers his “alveolar photos” for the students.

The principle ?

Group all the children taken turns in the same picture in a sort of box.

"There is demand," notes the Nantes photographer.

Thanks to the editing, we do not catch the Covid!

And the kids do tricks, it's funny and pretty easy to do.

Example of a photo of Studio Carré - Studio Carré

Studio carré, a Nantes-based company which launched this summer, is also focusing on "a modern and positive state of mind".

With her class photo in square format, where each student takes a break and “expresses his personality”, she has already won over several nursery and primary schools in the region.

"We also offer online sales, to avoid contacts and problems related to cash collection," explains Magali Lorre, the sales representative of Studio carré.

It is a way of reassuring families and schools, where we sometimes feel a lot of stress.
