The Director General of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Hala Badri, stressed the important role that creative productions that employ modern technologies play in a meaningful and responsible manner in achieving the advancement of societies and creating common spaces for understanding between people of different cultures and tongues, pointing to the authority's keenness on Supporting all inspiring creative initiatives that fall within this framework.

Badri added, during her visit to the "Wild Arab West" exhibition hosted by the Dubai Design District, that "Dubai Culture" is committed to encouraging distinguished thinkers and stimulating creative energies in various cultural and artistic fields, as it is the government agency responsible for supporting the creative community in Dubai and supporting initiatives. And innovative events that would contribute to enhancing the emirate's position as a global cultural center, an incubator of creativity, and a forum for talent.

She said, “Supporting talents and motivating them to communicate and create is one of the priorities of the Dubai Road Map for the updated strategic culture, and this visit to the Wild Arab West Exhibition falls within this priority, as the authority is keen to support this initiative because of the innovative concepts it holds that focus on highlighting the blends between the two Eastern cultures. And Western, and converges with the trends of Dubai, which works to build bridges for a true rapprochement between cultures based on creativity.

The authority seeks to promote valuable local creative products and give them horizons that contribute to their delivery to the largest segment of society, in a way that motivates creators to continue their bid and maintain the reciprocal relationship with their audience, especially in light of the current stage, and the visit also constitutes support for the role played by the Dubai Design District In providing an incubating and inspiring environment for types of creativity.

The Director General of "Dubai Culture" toured the exhibition that was held between buildings 6 and 7 in the Dubai Design District, and was briefed in the "Personalities" section on the distinctive works of art created by Emirati artist Ahmed Al Muhairi, a graphic designer specializing in collage, pop art and street art, especially Arabic calligraphy and stenciling art.

Al Muhairi participated with illustrations depicting elements of modern Western culture that were projected onto Gulf figures, in line with the theme of the exhibition, which focuses on highlighting aspects of the similarities between the two Eastern and Western cultures.

It is noteworthy that Al Muhairi participated in the team of artists who designed the new emblem of the UAE, which represents its media identity over the next fifty years, in addition to his participation in many art exhibitions inside and outside the country.

Section «Words»

Hala Badri visited the "Words" section of the exhibition, which sheds light on the (WAW) dictionary, which is a series created by the "Wild Arab West" platform that organizes the exhibition, to highlight Gulf words with a definition in English of the true meaning of the word, while adding a character of Western "pop" art on it.
