In Cuegao New Village, Nyingchi City, Tibet Autonomous Region, the scattered houses, the blue sky and white clouds overhead, and the Jieqing Nalagabu Snow Mountain in the distance form a pastoral picture.

More than a year ago, the villagers of Cuegao New Village still lived in Cuegao Village not far from the new house.

Cuogao Village is the only fully protected ancient village in Nyingchi City. Its architectural style is unique and has local characteristics. It has been awarded the "Chinese Historical and Cultural Village".

Out of the actual needs of protecting ancient buildings and housing for farmers and herdsmen, the village has been relocated.

The villagers have many inconveniences in their production and life, and hidden dangers such as fire fighting and house collapse also bring troubles to the protection of ancient buildings.

In March 2018, the local government began to implement the entire village relocation project, building 57 rural residential houses, village-level activity venues, roads, squares, water supply and drainage, greening, lighting and other auxiliary facilities.

On the eve of the Spring Festival in 2019, all the villagers moved into new houses.

Moving to a new house also means a leap in local development thinking.

According to Dan Zeng Dunzhu, Secretary of the Party Committee of Cuogao Township, in the next step, Cuogao Village will introduce powerful enterprises and carry out protective development in Cuogao Village.

At present, more than 10 households have renovated their houses and purchased equipment, and relevant departments have provided training for villagers in catering and room service, laying the foundation for building boutique homestays.

In addition, the Cuogao Village Tourism Company has also been established and is developing the Zhongcuo (lake) scenic spot.

Tourism development is in the ascendant, and the protection of ancient villages has also received attention.

After the entire village was relocated, the "Party Member Cultural Relics Protection Team" was established in Cuogao Village to conduct daily patrols and timely repairs to the ancient village.

Kezhu Duoji of the Cultural Relics Conservation Team has developed the habit of visiting the ancient village after grazing.

He told reporters that when the weather is dry, we must focus on inspections for fire hazards, and when it rains, we must pay attention to whether the house is leaking.

The old things in the house cannot be taken out. They should be kept there, like this (reserved) for taking pictures, as well as places visited when tourists come.

Then, like fire hazards, and other things that may cause damage to the roof, such as water seepage and dripping on the roof, you must talk to the (village) party branch.

For him, this house not only condensed the memories of the village's past, but also carried the expectation for future life.
