What is an ear infection?

"There is not an otitis, but otitis. The middle-acute is characterized by inflammation of the eardrum. For its part, the otitis externa will affect the ear canal. As for the so-called" serous "otitis, it is a stagnation of a little fluid behind the ear. In this case, it is a chronic pathology that must be detected by your doctor. Otitis is rarely bilateral, but it can happen when has not been treated It occurs in a viral context: for example, a child can have nasopharyngitis with a blocked nose and the secretions can reach the ear.

What are the symptoms ?

Usually pain in one ear is a good sign, but there are others.

A true ear infection is manifested by the internal temperature.

In the case of a baby who has trouble locating the pain, a sign may be that he keeps crying, even after lying down.

This may be a signal that an ear is working on it.

On the other hand, a baby who touches his ear is not a sign, he may just be playing with it.

How to treat an ear infection?

The first thing to do to treat ear infections is to unclog the nose with physiological saline.

And if the fever persists beyond three days, you must consult.

The doctor will then give you antibiotics. "
